Title: LOCAL AIDS COUNCIL LAUDS OCPO Post by: webmaster on September 23, 2013, 07:28:57 pm Ormoc City Local AIDS Council lauded Ormoc City Police Office (OCPO) and personnel praising the commendable support police authorities displayed and demonstrated during the May Candle Light Celebration held in Brgy. Alegria, Ormoc City Bay, where members of the council floated a symbolic HIV/AIDS awareness prevention and control float outside the City on May 1, 2013.
Police attendance in the Candle Light Celebration was overwhelmingly many that was very encouraging reports the recent LAC meeting held at the Pongos Hotel, Friday September 13, 2013. City councilor doctor Honorable Mario Mayong Rodriguez was present along representatives of the 15 regular members of LAC which looks into the local legislative aspect, the council is particularly protected; and clothed to regulate, control, prevent, discipline, and apprehend violators of the city Health Ordinance and its Permit to Operate Entertainment Bars and non-compliance of Hygiene Cards. Dr. Navales said, there are free medicines on sexual related diseases (SRDs) dispensed by the Council. It should not deter those who have infections to submit themselves for treatment. It is important, Dr Navales, said for infected individuals to submit for treatment with the City Health Office and be counseled to prevent reinfection and the spread of dreaded infectious disease in the community.
